Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions about our range of HVAC services in Kissimmee.
If your air conditioner isn’t cooling as it should, is making odd noises, or has an unexplained increase in energy usage, it may need servicing. You might also notice weak airflow, unpleasant smells, or the system cycling on and off too frequently. Addressing these issues early can help prevent bigger, more expensive problems down the road.
Furnaces can develop problems like ignition failure, malfunctioning thermostats, and clogged filters that restrict airflow. If your system is making loud or unusual noises, struggling to maintain a consistent temperature, or shutting off unexpectedly, it likely needs repair. Regular maintenance can help detect these problems early and keep your furnace running efficiently.
If your water heater takes longer to heat water, produces inconsistent temperatures, or has visible rust or leaks, it may be time for a replacement. Tanks that are over 10 to 15 years old often lose efficiency and may require more frequent repairs. Upgrading to a new unit can provide better performance, improve energy savings, and ensure a steady hot water supply.
Ductless air conditioners provide targeted cooling, allowing you to set different temperatures in individual rooms, which can improve comfort and efficiency. They don’t require ductwork, making installation easier and reducing energy loss associated with traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, they operate quietly and help improve air quality by reducing dust and allergens.
Choosing the right pool heater depends on factors like your pool’s size, local climate, and energy efficiency goals. Gas heaters warm water quickly and are great for colder areas, while heat pumps and solar heaters are more energy-efficient but may take longer to heat the pool. Understanding your usage habits and budget will help you determine the best system for your needs.
If you experience uneven temperatures, excessive dust buildup, or rising energy costs, your ductwork may be damaged or outdated. Leaks, poor insulation, or improper sizing can cause your HVAC system to work harder than necessary, leading to inefficiency. Replacing old ducts can improve airflow, enhance indoor comfort, and help reduce utility costs.
Air filtration systems help reduce indoor air pollutants such as dust, pet dander, and pollen, improving overall air quality. High-efficiency filters, like HEPA filters, can capture microscopic particles that trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Installing an air filtration system can also help extend the life of your HVAC unit by keeping dust and debris from clogging components.
Indoor air quality testing can identify pollutants like mold, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds that can impact your health. Poor air quality may contribute to allergy symptoms, respiratory problems, and long-term health issues. Testing allows you to find and address specific contaminants, whether through air purifiers, dehumidifiers, or upgraded filtration systems.
Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat instead of generating it, making them more energy-efficient than conventional systems. They work best in moderate climates but can still function in colder areas with additional heating support. Because they use less electricity, heat pumps can lower energy costs while maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

Performed a diagnostic on the apartment HVAC system due to a water leak concern. Tested the condensate drain pan and drain line. The drain line is clear and flowing properly. Water was poured into the drain pan to verify drainage, and the pan did not overflow during testing. Further inspection revealed that the safety float switch was not properly glued into the drain line and was leaking water significantly. The leaking water was saturating the insulation inside the unit. Additionally, the safety float switch was tested and found to be non-functional, as it did not shut the system off when activated. Saturated insulation was removed and dried to prevent further moisture issues. Inspected the evaporator coil and found it heavily impacted with debris and biological growth. Additional biological growth was observed inside the air handler cabinet. The air filter was also found to be heavily restricted. A restricted air filter and dirty evaporator coil can reduce airflow, causing water
Performed a diagnostic on a newly installed Daikin system. The customer stated that the system was not cooling properly over the weekend. Upon inspection, I checked overall system operation, airflow, refrigerant performance, and electrical components. The system is operating within the manufacturer’s specifications, and no mechanical or electrical issues were found with the equipment. The primary issue identified was an extremely restricted air filter, which was significantly reducing airflow and affecting cooling performance. I removed the clogged filter and advised the customer to purchase and install a replacement filter as soon as possible. The system is temporarily operating without a filter until the new one is installed. I showed the customer the location of the air filter and demonstrated how to flush the condensate drain line. I recommended replacing the air filter monthly and flushing the drain line monthly to help maintain proper system performance and prevent future issu
Perform a diagnostic on gas furnace,3.5 ton Carrier. Coil was freezing up before. When we arrived, the coil is already defrosted. Turn on the system to check the operation, blower started running, check pressures, compressor amp, fan motor amps, and blower motor amps. Blower motor amps was an over amping, but also sounds like have problem with the blower motor bearings. Reason for because the coil freezing up is blower motor bearings are shot. I have the approval from the pm for the motor replacement and I called the office having a universal motor and we got a drop-off, but the motor I have in the system is a different kind of motor with a bracket on the motor attached already, like it's not removable. So they need the original motor. Motor is out of town, taking a long period to get it at the shop delivery. Customer know about it, and I'm offered a new unit replacement, but they go with the part replacement. We left the fan on temporarily. We don't know how long it's gonna run that b
Performed a diagnostic on a system not cooling. Found the drain line extremely clogged. I quoted a Level 1 drain cleaning, and the customer approved the repair. I cleaned the system drain line and flushed six gallons of hot water through the line until it ran clear. I also applied Viper treatment to the drain pan and drain line to help prevent future buildup. Tested system operation after completing the service. The system is operating properly and draining well at this time.
Performed a diagnostic on a 3-ton Goodman package unit. Upon checking system operation, system pressures were 30 PSI on the suction side and 240 PSI head pressure. Capillary tubes began freezing up during operation. Performed a complimentary leak search; however, no refrigerant leak was found at this time. Recommended performing a UV dye leak detection to continue leak investigation. System standing pressure was 150 PSI. Inspected return air and blower operation, both operating properly. Compressor is operating, and condenser fan motor is also operating properly. Discussed repair and leak search options with the customer. Customer decided to stop further leak detection at this time and requested a new system proposal instead. Contacted the office and a sales lead was created for Kenneth. Kenneth arrived on site and provided a new unit proposal to the customer. Warranty status was verified through the office. Unit is out of warranty because the previous company never registered the
Performed a diagnostic on a 4-ton gas furnace system for a no-cooling issue. Inspected the contactor and capacitor and found the contactor badly burned and heavily pitted, and the capacitor completely dead. Contacted the customer regarding replacement of the contactor and capacitor, and the customer approved the repairs. Replaced the contactor and capacitor and tested system operation. During the visit, discussed options for a new system upgrade with the customer. The customer requested a new unit proposal. After taking equipment measurements for the proposal, I asked about the filter location. The customer stated that he has never known of a filter location since purchasing the home. This creates concern that the system may have been operating for approximately 10–12 years without proper air filtration. As a result, there is a high possibility that the evaporator coil is heavily compacted with dust and debris and that the blower wheel is also significantly impacted by dust buildup.
Performed a complementary leak search at the condenser. I used an electronic leak detector and found a refrigerant leak at the elbow of the condenser coil. I also performed a bubble leak test and took videos as evidence of the leak. Additionally, I took pictures of the unit information, as well as measurements of the equipment, breaker size, and wire size, since the property management company requested a proposal for a new system for the homeowner. I provided a repair estimate for the condenser leak, and both the repair quote and new system proposal will be sent to the homeowner. The homeowner is currently in London and will return in approximately three days to make a decision regarding repairs or replacement. I checked system pressures, compressor and condenser fan motor amp draws, and temperature split. At this time, the system is operating temporarily and cooling properly; however, due to the refrigerant leak, there is no guarantee how long the refrigerant charge will last or h
Performed contract maintenance on pancake unit. Cleaned the condenser, removed debris from inside the condenser, and rinsed the condenser coil. Also flushed and cleaned the drain line and added Viper treatment. Checked system operation in cooling mode, including refrigerant pressures, subcooling, superheat, temperature split, compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, and blower motor amperage. System is operating and draining properly at this time. During the inspection, I found the condenser capacitor slightly out of tolerance and recommend replacement to prevent future system issues. I also noted that the system does not have a surge protector installed on either the outdoor or indoor unit. Recommend installing surge protection to help protect electrical components from power surges. Additionally, the air handler cabinet does not have an air filter installed. Highly recommend installing an air filter as soon as possible to protect the equipment and maintain proper airflo
Preventive maintenance- 2021 Carrier - Maintenance completed: System running but refrigerant readings very low. Customer initially reported that system was having trouble keeping up. Subcool at zero and superheat close to 50, delta at only 12 degrees. All fans running and filter good. Performed courtesy leak search on indoor evaporator coil and was getting only faint indications at bottom left corner of evap coil. Nothing definitive in this area and could be refrigerant vapors. All other components on system are within range and operating normally. Advised owner the next level of leak search with addition of dye pack would be needed. Owner approved and I added dye pack to system today. Need to return this Saturday 5/23/26 from 10-12 for dye pack results.
Replaced failed zone damper motor and installed new damper motor. Adjusted and tested damper operation for downstairs zone. Verified the zone damper is opening and closing normally at this time. Took pictures before and after the repair and uploaded documentation into the company system.
