An HVAC service agreement is a maintenance plan that includes scheduled checkups for your heating and cooling system. These visits help prevent breakdowns, improve efficiency, and extend the life of your equipment — so you’re not scrambling when something goes wrong in the middle of July. At Underwood AC, our plans are called the Cub Club, and we’ve built them to take the guesswork completely out of HVAC maintenance.

We recommend at least twice a year — and all of our Cub Club memberships include two maintenance visits per year, scheduled in winter and spring. Arctic Club members also get an additional summer check-up, because let’s be honest, Florida summers are not the time to find out your system has been struggling. If you just need a one-time visit, we can work with your schedule year-round.

We call ours a Comfort Performance Visit — because we don’t believe in basic maintenance. Every visit includes a thorough outdoor system performance check: full refrigerant and temperature diagnostics, compressor, fan motor, and capacitor testing, electrical inspection and tightening, condenser coil rinse (when needed), and condenser capacitor inspection and testing. On the indoor side, we cover blower motor testing and airflow verification, coil inspection, humidity and temperature performance readings, filter replacement (customer provided), and premium drain line treatment with Viper service. When we’re done, we walk you through exactly what we found — in plain English, no jargon.

Yes. A clean, well-maintained system doesn’t have to work as hard to keep your home comfortable — and a system that isn’t working as hard uses less energy. Regular maintenance keeps components running efficiently, which tends to show up on your monthly utility bill over time. It’s one of those things that quietly pays for itself.

Our agreements cover your scheduled maintenance visits, not major repairs or part replacements. That said, if we find something during an inspection we’ll always tell you exactly what it is and what it’ll cost — no surprises. And as a member, you get a discount on any parts and labor we do: Polar Club members get priority scheduling, Cub Club members get 10% off parts and labor, and Arctic Club members get 15% off. So if something does come up, you’re in a better spot than most.

Honestly? Nothing — at first. That’s the problem. Dust builds up, components wear down, and small inefficiencies stack up quietly until your system is working twice as hard to do half the job. Eventually that turns into higher energy bills, more frequent breakdowns, and sometimes a full system replacement earlier than you’d planned. We’d much rather catch it early.

Absolutely. You can sign up for a Cub Club membership any time of year — there’s no waiting period or enrollment window. Just keep in mind that our scheduled maintenance visits run in winter and spring. If you need service outside of those windows, a one-time maintenance visit is always available and can be scheduled at your convenience.

Plan for about 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a standard Comfort Performance Visit — we’re thorough, and we’d rather take the time to do it right than rush through and miss something. Arctic Club members who receive the summer check-up should expect a shorter visit, typically around 30 to 60 minutes, since that visit is focused on a seasonal performance check rather than a full tune-up.

For most homeowners, the membership pays for itself before the year is out.
