Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some commonly asked questions about our range of HVAC services in Kissimmee.

If your air conditioner isn’t cooling as it should, is making odd noises, or has an unexplained increase in energy usage, it may need servicing. You might also notice weak airflow, unpleasant smells, or the system cycling on and off too frequently. Addressing these issues early can help prevent bigger, more expensive problems down the road.

Furnaces can develop problems like ignition failure, malfunctioning thermostats, and clogged filters that restrict airflow. If your system is making loud or unusual noises, struggling to maintain a consistent temperature, or shutting off unexpectedly, it likely needs repair. Regular maintenance can help detect these problems early and keep your furnace running efficiently.

If your water heater takes longer to heat water, produces inconsistent temperatures, or has visible rust or leaks, it may be time for a replacement. Tanks that are over 10 to 15 years old often lose efficiency and may require more frequent repairs. Upgrading to a new unit can provide better performance, improve energy savings, and ensure a steady hot water supply.

Ductless air conditioners provide targeted cooling, allowing you to set different temperatures in individual rooms, which can improve comfort and efficiency. They don’t require ductwork, making installation easier and reducing energy loss associated with traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, they operate quietly and help improve air quality by reducing dust and allergens.

Choosing the right pool heater depends on factors like your pool’s size, local climate, and energy efficiency goals. Gas heaters warm water quickly and are great for colder areas, while heat pumps and solar heaters are more energy-efficient but may take longer to heat the pool. Understanding your usage habits and budget will help you determine the best system for your needs.

If you experience uneven temperatures, excessive dust buildup, or rising energy costs, your ductwork may be damaged or outdated. Leaks, poor insulation, or improper sizing can cause your HVAC system to work harder than necessary, leading to inefficiency. Replacing old ducts can improve airflow, enhance indoor comfort, and help reduce utility costs.

Air filtration systems help reduce indoor air pollutants such as dust, pet dander, and pollen, improving overall air quality. High-efficiency filters, like HEPA filters, can capture microscopic particles that trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Installing an air filtration system can also help extend the life of your HVAC unit by keeping dust and debris from clogging components.

Indoor air quality testing can identify pollutants like mold, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds that can impact your health. Poor air quality may contribute to allergy symptoms, respiratory problems, and long-term health issues. Testing allows you to find and address specific contaminants, whether through air purifiers, dehumidifiers, or upgraded filtration systems.

Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat instead of generating it, making them more energy-efficient than conventional systems. They work best in moderate climates but can still function in colder areas with additional heating support. Because they use less electricity, heat pumps can lower energy costs while maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

Replaced the main PCB (control board) and ambient temperature sensor. Applied new thermal cooling paste to the replacement board, reinstalled it, and reconnected all safety circuits. After restoring power, the system displayed an E11 error code, indicating that the unit required a system test mode. Performed the required test mode using the Daikin thermostat, and the test completed successfully. No error codes were present after the test. Verified system operation, and the unit is now operating normally and cooling properly at this time.

Performed a diagnostic on a Bryant 4-ton heat pump system. Upon arrival, I found the condenser fan motor running, but the compressor was not operating. I tested the dual run capacitor and found it had completely failed. I provided the customer with a quote for the dual capacitor replacement, and the customer approved the repair. I replaced the defective capacitor and restarted the system. After the repair, I verified proper system operation by checking refrigerant pressures, subcooling, superheat, compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, and temperature split. All readings were within normal operating range, and the system is now cooling properly. I also verified that the condensate drain is flowing properly at this time. The system is operating normally upon departure.

Performed a diagnostic on a 5-ton Carrier system approximately 15 years old. The customer stated the unit had been dripping water from the front of the air handler. Upon arrival, the system was no longer leaking because the customer had already cleared the drain line. The customer requested a complete system inspection. I checked the operation of the system and found it cooling and draining properly at this time. During the inspection, I found the evaporator coil to be in very poor condition with extensive rust and corrosion. There was a significant amount of rust particles and debris in the drain pan, which can clog the drain line and cause the drain pan to overflow, resulting in water leaking from the front of the unit. I recommended a professional drain line and drain pan cleaning to remove the accumulated rust and debris and help prevent future drain blockages. The customer declined the recommended repairs at this time. Due to the age and condition of the system, I discussed rep

Performed a diagnostic on the drain issue and found the condensate drain line to be extremely clogged. Water was overflowing from the evaporator coil drain pan and the PVC tee due to the blockage. I presented the customer with a quote for a professional drain line cleaning. The customer declined the repair, stating that the cost was too expensive and that he plans to clean the drain line himself. Collected the $79 diagnostic fee in cash. The system was left as found. The customer was advised that the clogged drain line may continue to cause water overflow and potential water damage until the drain line is properly cleaned.

Performed a diagnostic on the air conditioning system due to the unit tripping on the high-pressure safety switch. Upon inspection, I found the water pressure slightly low. I shut off the water valve, removed and cleaned the strainer, and flushed the water lines until the water ran clear. After reassembling the strainer and restoring water flow, I restarted the system and checked operation. The system is now running properly in cooling mode. I verified system pressures and temperature split, and both are within normal operating range. The unit is cooling and operating correctly at this time. If the issue continues, the problem may be related to the building’s water chiller system or insufficient water flow being supplied to the unit. At this time, the system is operating normally.

Performed a diagnostic on the mini-split system. Found the unit low on refrigerant with a suction pressure of 49 PSI. Customer requested refrigerant be added only and declined equipment replacement at this time. Added approximately 1.5 lbs of R-410A refrigerant to the system per customer request. After charging, the system achieved a 27°F temperature split and was cooling properly at the time of service. Performed a complimentary leak search and found the evaporator coil leaking refrigerant. Advised the customer that the evaporator coil leak is the cause of the low refrigerant condition and that adding refrigerant is only a temporary solution. Customer is aware that the system is older and that the evaporator coil is leaking. I advised the customer that the system holds approximately 2 lbs of refrigerant when completely empty and that the system was not flat at the time of service. I recommended adding only the amount necessary to restore operation; however, the customer specifically r
