Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some commonly asked questions about our range of HVAC services in Kissimmee.

If your air conditioner isn’t cooling as it should, is making odd noises, or has an unexplained increase in energy usage, it may need servicing. You might also notice weak airflow, unpleasant smells, or the system cycling on and off too frequently. Addressing these issues early can help prevent bigger, more expensive problems down the road.

Furnaces can develop problems like ignition failure, malfunctioning thermostats, and clogged filters that restrict airflow. If your system is making loud or unusual noises, struggling to maintain a consistent temperature, or shutting off unexpectedly, it likely needs repair. Regular maintenance can help detect these problems early and keep your furnace running efficiently.

If your water heater takes longer to heat water, produces inconsistent temperatures, or has visible rust or leaks, it may be time for a replacement. Tanks that are over 10 to 15 years old often lose efficiency and may require more frequent repairs. Upgrading to a new unit can provide better performance, improve energy savings, and ensure a steady hot water supply.

Ductless air conditioners provide targeted cooling, allowing you to set different temperatures in individual rooms, which can improve comfort and efficiency. They don’t require ductwork, making installation easier and reducing energy loss associated with traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, they operate quietly and help improve air quality by reducing dust and allergens.

Choosing the right pool heater depends on factors like your pool’s size, local climate, and energy efficiency goals. Gas heaters warm water quickly and are great for colder areas, while heat pumps and solar heaters are more energy-efficient but may take longer to heat the pool. Understanding your usage habits and budget will help you determine the best system for your needs.

If you experience uneven temperatures, excessive dust buildup, or rising energy costs, your ductwork may be damaged or outdated. Leaks, poor insulation, or improper sizing can cause your HVAC system to work harder than necessary, leading to inefficiency. Replacing old ducts can improve airflow, enhance indoor comfort, and help reduce utility costs.

Air filtration systems help reduce indoor air pollutants such as dust, pet dander, and pollen, improving overall air quality. High-efficiency filters, like HEPA filters, can capture microscopic particles that trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Installing an air filtration system can also help extend the life of your HVAC unit by keeping dust and debris from clogging components.

Indoor air quality testing can identify pollutants like mold, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds that can impact your health. Poor air quality may contribute to allergy symptoms, respiratory problems, and long-term health issues. Testing allows you to find and address specific contaminants, whether through air purifiers, dehumidifiers, or upgraded filtration systems.

Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat instead of generating it, making them more energy-efficient than conventional systems. They work best in moderate climates but can still function in colder areas with additional heating support. Because they use less electricity, heat pumps can lower energy costs while maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

Performed a complete diagnostic on the Carrier system for the downstairs zone (single A/C system with zoning damper controls) due to no cooling concerns. Upon inspection, found the zone damper motor stuck in the closed position, preventing proper airflow to the downstairs area. Manually opened the damper and disconnected the motor to leave the damper in the open position temporarily until replacement can be completed. Spoke with the PM & HO, and approval was obtained for zone damper motor replacement, along with signed contract agreement. Replacement part was not available at the time of service. Return visit is scheduled for Wednesday to install the new damper motor. Also completed the first maintenance visit under the customer’s maintenance agreement. Checked full system operation in cooling mode, including: * Compressor amperage * Condenser fan motor amperage * Blower motor amperage * Temperature split * Subcooling * Superheat System is currently operating within normal paramet

Performed diagnostic on heat pump Goodman condenser & Carrier air Handler 2.5 ton unit serving the guest room over the garage. The system is 21 years old and currently down at this time. After a full inspection, I found the unit requires multiple major repairs due to the age and overall condition of the equipment. I provided the customer with a full estimate for all necessary repairs. Due to the extent of repairs needed and the age of the system, I recommended full system replacement as the most cost-effective long-term solution. Customer requested a new system proposal instead of moving forward with repairs. I contacted the office and created the replacement lead so the proposal can be sent over. Customer also advised they have a second company scheduled to evaluate the system tomorrow for another opinion. The unit remains temporarily down at this time pending the customer’s final decision.

Performed a diagnostic on a 5-ton Goodman unit. Found the indoor unit running and the thermostat calling for cooling, but the outdoor unit was not running. Diagnosed a failed dual capacitor as the cause of the issue. Contacted the property manager, Rob, and received approval for the repair. Replaced the dual capacitor and tested system operation. Checked system pressures, subcooling, superheat, temperature split, and overall system performance. System is currently operating properly and cooling at this time. Performed a quick unit inspection and found the condenser contactor is badly pitted and recommends replacement. Inspected the indoor air handler and found bacterial growth inside the cabinet and underneath the evaporator coil. The evaporator coil is heavily impacted with dust and bacterial buildup, with approximately 45% of the coil surface restricted. Recommended pulling and cleaning the evaporator coil, sanitizing the air handler cabinet, replacing the condenser contactor, and

During inspection, I found the dual capacitor was weak/bad. I presented repair options to the homeowner, and she approved the capacitor replacement, which was completed during today’s visit. Additional findings during unit inspection: * Condenser contactor is pitted and showing signs of wear; replacement is recommended to prevent future failure. * Bacterial growth present inside the air handler cabinet; microbial sanitizing treatment is recommended. * No surge protection installed on either the air handler or condenser; highly recommend installing surge protectors to protect electrical components. * UV light system is recommended to help control microbial growth and improve indoor air quality. I also discussed equipment condition with the homeowner. The system is approximately 12 years old. I reviewed replacement options due to

Performed a diagnostic on a 5-ton Goodman unit. Found the thermostat wire at the outdoor condenser was badly damaged, which could cause a future short. Also found the system drain line was extremely clogged, which was the reason the unit was not cooling properly. I brought both issues to the homeowner’s attention and recommended a Level 2 drain cleaning. The homeowner approved the repair. Completed repairs by replacing the damaged section of thermostat wire to the condenser and installing protective shielding over the wire. Cleaned the drain line using a drain snake and flushed the line with approximately 8 gallons of hot water until the water flowed clear. After repairs, tested system operation. The unit is now cooling properly. Checked system pressures, subcooling, superheat, temperature split, compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, and blower motor amperage. All readings were within normal operating range, and the system is operating properly at this time. Recommende
