Frequently Asked Questions

Below, you’ll find some commonly asked questions about our services in Clermont.

Keeping your AC in top shape requires regular servicing. We suggest having a professional inspect and maintain your system annually to ensure it operates efficiently. Routine checkups help prevent costly repairs, improve energy efficiency, and extend the unit’s lifespan.

Ductless mini-splits are an excellent choice for homes without existing ductwork or those needing zoned cooling. These systems allow you to control temperatures in different areas of your home independently, leading to increased energy efficiency. Additionally, they are compact, quiet, and easy to install, making them a versatile cooling solution.

Enhancing your home’s air quality involves multiple approaches. Keeping your HVAC system well-maintained helps prevent the circulation of dust and pollutants. Installing air filtration systems or UV purifiers can help remove airborne contaminants, and scheduling periodic air quality testing can pinpoint specific problems so you can take targeted action.

Selecting the right furnace requires careful consideration. The size of the unit should match your home’s heating needs for optimal performance and energy efficiency. Choosing a professionally installed system ensures safety, compliance with local codes, and reliable operation throughout the colder months.

Several warning signs indicate that your ductwork may need attention, such as inconsistent airflow, rising energy costs, or visible cracks and leaks. Older duct systems can also accumulate dust and allergens, reducing air quality. A professional assessment can determine whether repairs or a full replacement would be the best solution for your home.

A pool heater allows you to swim comfortably regardless of the season by maintaining warm water temperatures. It increases your pool’s usability beyond just the summer months and can add value to your home. Whether you choose an electric or gas model, a properly installed heater provides an energy-efficient way to extend your swimming season.

Excess humidity can lead to problems like mold, mildew, and an overall sticky, uncomfortable environment. A dehumidifier works by removing moisture from the air, helping to maintain a balanced indoor climate. By controlling humidity levels, it also helps prevent damage to furniture, walls, and other areas of your home.

If you notice weak airflow, unusual noises, or inconsistent temperatures, your air handler may need attention. A malfunctioning air handler can reduce your HVAC system’s efficiency and increase energy costs. Professional repairs or a replacement can restore proper airflow and help maintain a comfortable indoor climate.

Poor indoor air quality can contribute to allergies, respiratory issues, and overall discomfort. Testing your air helps identify pollutants like dust, mold, and allergens so you can take steps to improve ventilation and filtration. With the right solutions, such as advanced air purifiers or upgraded filters, you can create a healthier living space for your family.

Performed a diagnostic on a 3-ton gas furnace split system serving a 1,460 sq. ft. home. During the inspection, I found the evaporator coil case/plenum leaking air around the entire cabinet. Cold air could be felt escaping from all sides, reducing system efficiency and conditioned airflow. I checked the system operating pressures, subcooling, superheat, and temperature split. The head pressure was unstable, repeatedly rising to approximately 370 PSI and then dropping to around 305 PSI without stabilizing. This indicates likely refrigerant contamination. Based on the system’s symptoms, I explained to the customer that the system may not have been properly evacuated during the original installation, allowing moisture to remain in the refrigerant circuit. The system uses a piston metering device. Indoor humidity measured 64%, which is above the recommended range. The customer stated that the system runs continuously and was unable to maintain the thermostat setting of 74°F yesterday, with

Diagnosis on 2016 Carrier Heat Pump Upon arrival, found the indoor coil slightly frozen. After further inspection, found the cause to be a failed blower motor, which was preventing proper airflow across the evaporator coil. After replacement, verified system operation and confirmed the system is now running and cooling properly with normal airflow and temperatures.

Performed a diagnostic and found the thermostat calling for cooling, but the system was not running. Checked for high voltage at the furnace and found no power present. Verified the breaker was on and confirmed 122.7 volts at the breaker. Inspected for a disconnect switch and found it in the OFF position. Turned the disconnect back ON, and the system started operating normally. After restoring power, checked compressor amps, condenser fan motor amps, blower motor amps, system pressures, subcooling, superheat, and temperature split. All readings are within normal operating range at this time. System is running and cooling properly.

Performed a diagnostic on a 2024 Carrier 3-ton air conditioning system. The system was calling for cooling; the indoor blower was operating, but the outdoor unit was not running. Checked the capacitor and found it within specifications. Inspected the contactor, which is in good condition. Verified that the thermostat is properly calling for cooling mode. Confirmed that 24 volts is present at the defrost board; however, no voltage is being sent from the board to the contactor. Tested the low-pressure switch and found it operating correctly. Verified line voltage at the defrost board, with power present at T1 but not passing through to T2. Determined that the relay on the defrost board is stuck open, preventing the compressor and outdoor unit from operating. Spoke with the customer and recommended temporarily bypassing the defrost board to restore cooling, along with replacing the defective defrost control board. Customer approved the repair and authorized ordering the replacement par

Performed a diagnostic for a water leak in the first-floor kitchen ceiling. Upon inspection, found a 90° PVC coupling inside the armaflex insulation that was loose and not properly glued. The coupling had minimal glue and was not fully seated into the pipe. Cut open the insulation to access the issue, removed the faulty 90° PVC coupling, and installed a new properly fitted coupling. All connections were cleaned and securely glued to ensure a proper seal. Tested the drain line by running water through it and verified that there are no leaks present. No further water dripping was observed. Reinstalled the armaflex insulation and sealed it with foam tape. Water leak has been resolved at this time.

Gas Furnace & Condensing Unit – Full Inspection Report System Age: System is approximately 12–13 years old. • Evaporator coil (case coil): 2014 • Gas furnace: 2013 Performed a complete system inspection on the gas furnace and condensing unit. Verified system operation in both cooling and heating modes. Checked system pressures, compressor amperage, fan motor amperage, and overall performance — system is currently operating within normal range. Tested all capacitors (compressor, condenser fan motor, and blower motor) and found them within manufacturer tolerances. Findings & Conditions: • Contactor: The contactor is heavily pitted. This condition can lead to inefficient operation, increased amperage draw, and potential failure to properly complete the electrical circuit. Replacement is recommended. • Condenser Coil & Airflow: Debris was found inside the condenser. The unit is experiencing airflow restriction, indicated by air being pulled from the top of the condenser. This suggests

To keep your HVAC system running safely, efficiently, and reliably, we recommend the following work: Air Handler Platform Rebuild The platform that supports your air handler is worn and no longer providing proper support. Rebuilding it ensures the unit sits level and secure, which helps prevent vibration, water damage, and long-term structural issues. Evaporator Coil Cleaning The evaporator coil collects dirt and debris over time. When it’s dirty, airflow is restricted and the system has to work harder, which increases energy bills and reduces cooling performance. Cleaning the coil improves efficiency, indoor air quality, and helps extend the life of your system. Contactor Replacement The contactor is an electrical component that controls when your system turns on and off. A worn or failing contactor can cause intermittent cooling or complete system failure. Replacing it now helps prevent unexpected breakdowns. Ultraviolet (UV) Light Installation A UV light is installed inside the
