Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some commonly asked questions about our range of HVAC services in Kissimmee.

If your air conditioner isn’t cooling as it should, is making odd noises, or has an unexplained increase in energy usage, it may need servicing. You might also notice weak airflow, unpleasant smells, or the system cycling on and off too frequently. Addressing these issues early can help prevent bigger, more expensive problems down the road.

Furnaces can develop problems like ignition failure, malfunctioning thermostats, and clogged filters that restrict airflow. If your system is making loud or unusual noises, struggling to maintain a consistent temperature, or shutting off unexpectedly, it likely needs repair. Regular maintenance can help detect these problems early and keep your furnace running efficiently.

If your water heater takes longer to heat water, produces inconsistent temperatures, or has visible rust or leaks, it may be time for a replacement. Tanks that are over 10 to 15 years old often lose efficiency and may require more frequent repairs. Upgrading to a new unit can provide better performance, improve energy savings, and ensure a steady hot water supply.

Ductless air conditioners provide targeted cooling, allowing you to set different temperatures in individual rooms, which can improve comfort and efficiency. They don’t require ductwork, making installation easier and reducing energy loss associated with traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, they operate quietly and help improve air quality by reducing dust and allergens.

Choosing the right pool heater depends on factors like your pool’s size, local climate, and energy efficiency goals. Gas heaters warm water quickly and are great for colder areas, while heat pumps and solar heaters are more energy-efficient but may take longer to heat the pool. Understanding your usage habits and budget will help you determine the best system for your needs.

If you experience uneven temperatures, excessive dust buildup, or rising energy costs, your ductwork may be damaged or outdated. Leaks, poor insulation, or improper sizing can cause your HVAC system to work harder than necessary, leading to inefficiency. Replacing old ducts can improve airflow, enhance indoor comfort, and help reduce utility costs.

Air filtration systems help reduce indoor air pollutants such as dust, pet dander, and pollen, improving overall air quality. High-efficiency filters, like HEPA filters, can capture microscopic particles that trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Installing an air filtration system can also help extend the life of your HVAC unit by keeping dust and debris from clogging components.

Indoor air quality testing can identify pollutants like mold, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds that can impact your health. Poor air quality may contribute to allergy symptoms, respiratory problems, and long-term health issues. Testing allows you to find and address specific contaminants, whether through air purifiers, dehumidifiers, or upgraded filtration systems.

Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat instead of generating it, making them more energy-efficient than conventional systems. They work best in moderate climates but can still function in colder areas with additional heating support. Because they use less electricity, heat pumps can lower energy costs while maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

Performed diagnostic on 2024 2.5ton Lennox heat pump system due to customer concern of high power bills over the last two months following thermostat replacement. Upon arrival, checked system operation and found electric heat strips energizing while the system was running in cooling mode and remaining energized continuously (24/7). Diagnosed issue to thermostat wiring installed by property management. The white wire was incorrectly landed on W1. Since this is a heat pump system, the thermostat was configured for heat pump operation, causing W1 to continuously energize the electric heat strips. Relocated the white wire to the correct W2/AUX terminal and retested system operation. After correction, verified electric heat strips were no longer energizing during cooling operation. Performed full operational check in cooling mode including system pressures, subcooling, superheat, temperature split, compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, blower motor amperage, and electric hea

Performed preventive maintenance on the Carrier system and completed a full unit inspection. Tested system operation in cooling mode and checked system pressures, temperature split, subcooling, superheat, compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, blower motor amperage, and inspected all electrical components. System is currently operating; however, due to existing component conditions, it is running outside manufacturer specifications. As part of today’s maintenance, I cleaned the drain line and drain pan, added Viper treatment, vacuumed debris from the condenser, and rinsed the condenser coil to improve airflow and system performance. During the unit inspection, I found significant bacterial growth throughout the system, including inside the air handler cabinet, blower wheel, evaporator coil, supply vents, and portions of the ductwork. This condition has been previously documented, and recommendations have been made multiple times for corrective action, including UV light i

**During inspection, found bacterial growth inside the air handler cabinet, including on the evaporator coil (top and bottom), as well as on the blower wheel housing. Recommend performing a microbial treatment and installing a UV light to improve indoor air quality. **Also observed that the platform deck (base) supporting the air handler is slightly sinking(compromised), which may affect proper drainage as the system becomes unstable/off level with continued deterioration over time. Recommend replacing platform deck. IMPORTANT NOTE: This would normally be completed at system replacement time; however, this unit is still fairly young with a lot of life left. We do not believe this platform deck will continue to properly support this air handler for another 5-8 years.

Cub club maintenance performed on a - 2021 Goodman system installed by Underwood AC. Summary: System currently operating as designed. Refrigerant readings and temps good, all amp draws all normal. Small MG present inside, recommended UV light. Snaked/flushed drain and rinsed outside coil. CONCERNS NOTATED with photos attached: 1. Evaporator coil has good amount of buildup & now is impacting air flow. The evaporator coil is now in need of a , evaporator coil pull and clean. 2. Blower wheel has more accumulation since last visit as well and now should also be pulled and clean. 3. Contactor is quite pitted; however, failure is need to file under parts & labor with the manufacturer warranty. If you opt to preemptively replace this the full cost would apply. PM will give recommendations to owner.

Upon arrival, the system was running. I checked system pressures and observed that the liquid saturation was slightly elevated. Upon further inspection, I found that the bypass valve located after the pool filter was partially open, allowing water to split between the pool and the pool heater. This condition was reducing water flow through the heater and causing higher operating pressures. Adjusted the bypass valve and system pressures returned to normal operating range. Inspected the pool filter, which appears clean at this time.

Upstairs Unit Diagnostic Report Performed a diagnostic on the upstairs system. Upon arrival, the indoor blower was operating; however, the outdoor condenser fan was running without the compressor engaging. I tested the electrical components and found the capacitor to be faulty and the contactor showing signs of excessive heat damage. I recommended replacing both components to restore proper operation. With customer approval, I replaced the capacitor and contactor. After the repair, the system started, but it began pumping down the refrigerant. This indicates that the indoor TXV (thermal expansion valve) is stuck closed and not allowing proper refrigerant flow. I attempted to free the TXV by cycling the system in heating mode multiple times, but the valve did not respond. Due to the failed TXV, the system cannot operate properly. I removed the newly installed parts and left the outdoor unit disconnected to prevent further damage. At this time, only the indoor fan is operational. Du
