Frequently Asked Questions

Below, you’ll find some frequently asked questions about our range of services in Davenport.

Regular maintenance is key to keeping your AC running efficiently. We recommend scheduling a professional inspection at least once per year to catch potential issues early. This helps your system operate at peak performance, reduces energy consumption, and extends the unit’s lifespan.

Ductless air conditioning provides a flexible cooling solution, especially for homes without existing ductwork. These systems allow for customized temperature control in different rooms, improving energy efficiency and comfort. Their sleek design and quiet operation make them a popular alternative to traditional HVAC systems.

Maintaining good indoor air quality involves several steps. Keeping your HVAC system clean and replacing filters regularly can help reduce dust and allergens. Installing air purifiers or using UV air sanitizers can further eliminate airborne contaminants, creating a fresher and healthier environment.

Choosing the right furnace involves selecting a unit that matches your home’s heating needs. A properly sized and energy-efficient system will provide reliable warmth while keeping utility costs in check. Professional installation ensures safe operation and compliance with local building codes.

If you experience weak airflow, temperature inconsistencies, or a sudden rise in energy bills, your ductwork might be the culprit. Damaged or outdated ducts can allow air leaks, making your HVAC system work harder than necessary. A professional assessment can determine if repairs or a full replacement would improve efficiency and indoor comfort.

A pool heater lets you enjoy swimming in comfortable water temperatures year-round. It extends your pool’s usability beyond summer, allowing for more relaxation and entertainment options. With gas and electric models available, you can select an option that best suits your home’s energy needs and budget.

Excess moisture in the air can make your home feel damp, encourage mold growth, and create an uncomfortable living environment. A dehumidifier removes excess humidity, helping to maintain balanced indoor air conditions. This not only enhances comfort but also protects your home from moisture-related damage.

If your home has poor airflow, strange noises coming from your system, or uneven cooling and heating, your air handler might need attention. An inefficient air handler can reduce your HVAC system’s overall performance and increase energy costs. Professional repair or replacement can restore airflow and improve home comfort.

Indoor air quality testing helps identify harmful pollutants like dust, mold, and allergens that could be affecting your health. Poor air quality can lead to allergy symptoms, respiratory issues, and general discomfort. A professional assessment can determine the best solutions to improve your home’s air, such as advanced filtration systems or better ventilation.

Performed a diagnostic on a recently installed system. Upon accessing the attic, found the air handler disconnect breaker in the OFF position. I asked the customer if anyone had accessed the attic, and the customer stated that nobody had. I inspected the system to determine why the breaker was turned off. Since the system was installed approximately one month ago and there was no response from the equipment while the breaker was off, a possible issue with the disconnect/breaker cannot be ruled out. Turned the breaker ON and tested system operation. The system started and is currently operating normally. Checked system temperature split and verified proper cooling operation. Tested the drain line and found the drain termination located close to the wall on the back-left side of the house. Added a PVC 90° fitting to make the drain termination more visible and accessible, allowing proper verification that the system is draining. System is currently cooling and draining properly at this

Performed a diagnostic and found no display on the thermostat. Inspected the system safety float switch and found it tripped due to an extremely clogged drain line. Discussed repair options with the customer, including a maintenance service agreement. Customer approved the Arctic Maintenance Agreement, and I completed the first full maintenance visit. Cleaned the primary drain line using a drain snake and flushed the line with hot water until the water was flowing clear. Cleaned the drain pan and added Viper drain treatment. Performed a complete system inspection and tested operation in cooling mode. Checked compressor amps, condenser fan motor amps, blower motor amps, temperature split, subcooling, and superheat. During the inspection, found the evaporator coil and blower wheel heavily compacted with debris. The interior of the air handler cabinet also has significant bacterial growth. Customer already has a UV light installed by a previous company. Recommended a complete microbia

Found significant algae buildup in the drain pan. Cleaned the drain pan and drain line and added Viper treatment. Rinsed the condenser coil from inside to outside and outside to inside to ensure proper airflow and cleanliness. Also brought to the homeowner’s attention an electrical installation issue related to equipment installed by Duke Energy. The electrical conduit was filled with water, and a knockout was made on the electrical cover in a location that makes electrical servicing difficult. The proper edge knockout was not used, and no gasket was installed. The homeowner has contacted Duke Energy,

Performed a diagnostic on a 3-ton Goodman air handler manufactured in 2021 with a 2022 condenser. System is not registered. Upon inspection, I found the system running low on refrigerant, with high superheat and low subcooling. I checked compressor amperage, fan motor amperage, system pressures, subcooling, superheat, and temperature split. The capacitor was tested and found to be within tolerance. The contactor is pitted and recommended for replacement. I also inspected the drain pan and drain line and found them dirty with algae and bacterial buildup. The evaporator coil was found to be freezing due to the system being low on refrigerant. I performed a complimentary leak search and found multiple refrigerant leaks in the evaporator coil. I contacted the office to verify the system warranty and was advised that the warranty expired in August 2026, approximately one month ago. I prepared a proposal including evaporator coil replacement, five pounds of refrigerant, drain line clean

Performed a diagnostic on a 3-ton Goodman straight-cool system. The system was freezing up, so I performed a complete system inspection and leak search. No active refrigerant leak was found using electronic leak detection and UV light. UV dye was previously present in the system, but no visible dye leak was found. The system is low on refrigerant, and based on the inspection, a possible leak is suspected at the suction-line service valve. During the inspection, I also found the return duct damaged and open to the exterior of the trailer. The evaporator coil, condenser coil, and blower wheel are heavily impacted with debris and require cleaning. The contactor was found to be severely pitted and not operating properly. I recommended replacement, and the customer approved the repair. I replaced the contactor and tested the system afterward. The system is operating, but it remains low on refrigerant and is currently operating outside of manufacturer specifications. I presented the custo

Performed a diagnostic on the downstairs HVAC system and found the system low on refrigerant. The water dripping from the system is most likely related to the evaporator coil freezing due to the low refrigerant condition. Performed a full system inspection and found the blower wheel heavily impacted with debris, and the evaporator coil has a refrigerant leak. Performed a complementary electronic leak search and confirmed the leak at the evaporator coil. Additional issues found include the blower capacitor and condenser capacitor both being out of tolerance. The condenser contactor is badly pitted, and the condenser coil is heavily impacted with debris. Presented the customer with a repair quote. The customer requested a proposal for system replacement, so I contacted the office and created a lead for Kenneth. I explained to the customer that replacing both systems may qualify for a better overall price and additional discounts. Kenneth arrived on-site and presented the replacement p
