Underwood AC is an excellent company. They replaced our 26-year-old system with a really clean and professional installation. The install was all done within one day, and everything was done exactly as they said it would be. Carlos and Mason did a fantastic install. The follow-up work was also done professionally, and every time I was given a time frame for when the techs would be at my home, they turned up on time. Adam and Kenneth, thanks for your patience and for giving us excellent service!

Underwood has taken great care of my current home so when I bought my future home that has 'issues,' I had Underwood do a thorough analysis which was painstakingly detailed and as precise as it needed to be and I greenlit the plan of remedy which was no quick fix. The results were nothing short of amazingly excellent and as sensational as I expected, not to mention reasonable! The new house is operational, upgraded, and I'm excitedly ready for my next 20 years!

Victor very thoroughly checked the HVAC in the condo we recently purchased, and went over the various items that needed to be addressed. He explained the Underwood Club options, and we chose the one that was best for our situation. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and cleaned everything up at the end. I hope we get him again for our next service.

In a world with a ton of choices regarding A/C repair, Underwood AC was my 3rd company that I have had at my place. I guess 3rd time is the charm as they say. Signed up for their Cub Club and the service was very thorough and informative for future planning.

Performed a diagnostic on a 2.5-ton Carrier system, approximately 7 years old. Checked system pressures, subcooling, superheat, and temperature split. System is currently operating within manufacturer specifications. Checked the contactor and capacitor; both are in good condition. Condenser coil, evaporator coil, and drain pan are clean. Inspected the air handler cabinet and found some bacterial growth around the wiring near the blower motor. The blower wheel is currently clean. The tenant provided a video showing significant bacterial growth inside the air handler closet prior to cleaning. The tenant stated that the area was cleaned over the weekend, and the closet is currently clean. Inspected the drywall ceiling above the air handler closet and found several areas where the drywall is not completely sealed. These openings may allow unconditioned air and moisture to enter the closet and contribute to microbial growth. Recommend having a skinny technician seal the gaps around the ce

Performed a diagnostic on the upstairs HVAC system. Found the condenser fan motor with failing bearings, causing the motor to overamp, overheat, and shut down. The contactor was also found to be severely pitted. Recommended replacement of both components, and the customer approved the repairs. Replaced the condenser fan motor and contactor. After completing the repairs, tested the system and verified proper operation. The system is running and cooling properly at this time. During the unit inspection, found the evaporator coil heavily compacted with debris and the condenser coil also heavily impacted with debris. Highly recommend pulling and cleaning the evaporator coil and performing a thorough condenser coil cleaning to improve system performance and airflow.

Performed maintenance agreement service on the mini-split serving the breaker rooms. Checked system operation in cooling mode, refrigerant pressures, superheat, temperatures, and system amp draw. The system is currently cooling and operating. Cleaned the condensate pump tray and added biotreatment. Wiped down the indoor unit and supply vents. Rinsed the outdoor condenser coil and removed debris from inside the condenser. During the inspection, found the indoor blower wheel heavily compacted with bacterial buildup and debris on the evaporator coil. A deep cleaning of the blower wheel and evaporator coil is recommended. Continued bacterial buildup can restrict airflow and may cause error codes or prevent the system from maintaining the desired temperature. At this time, the system is cooling and draining properly; however, operation is out of the manufacturer’s specifications due to the condition of the indoor components. Recommend installing a surge protector on the outdoor mini-spli

Performed preventive maintenance on a 3-ton Goodman system. Cleaned the condensate drain line and drain pan. Removed debris from inside the condenser cabinet and rinsed the condenser coil from outside to inside and inside to outside. During the system inspection, found the contactor slightly pitted and appears to be the original contactor. The evaporator coil is heavily impacted with debris, and the blower wheel also has significant debris buildup. Recommend removing and thoroughly cleaning the evaporator coil and blower wheel. Recommend replacing the pitted contactor as preventative maintenance. No surge protection was found at either the air handler or condenser. Strongly recommend installing surge protection on both pieces of equipment to help protect the system from electrical surges. Checked compressor amperage, condenser fan motor amperage, system pressures, subcooling, superheat, and temperature split. The system is currently cooling and draining properly; however, operating

Performed diagnostic on a 6-year-old York air conditioning system. Upon inspection, the condenser was displaying an error code of two flashes, indicating that the system had been shut down by the high-pressure safety switch. Testing confirmed that the high-pressure switch was stuck in the open position. The high-pressure switch was temporarily bypassed with the customer’s approval so the system could be tested. After bypassing the switch, the system started and operated normally. System performance and operating pressures were checked, and the unit is currently cooling properly and draining correctly. The customer was informed that the high-pressure switch bypass is temporary and that operating the system without the high-pressure safety protection could result in excessive system pressure, which may cause compressor damage, refrigerant leaks, or other system damage. The customer understood and approved the temporary bypass. The customer requested a proposal for replacement of the

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about our range of HVAC services. If yours isn’t mentioned, just get in touch with us and we’ll provide you with an answer as soon as possible.

It’s recommended to schedule HVAC maintenance at least once a year. For best performance, have your AC checked in the spring and your heating system serviced in the fall.

If your AC is over 10-15 years old, frequently breaks down, or struggles to cool your home efficiently, it may be time for a replacement. If the issue is minor and the unit is still in good condition, a repair might be the better option.

A sudden increase in energy costs can indicate an inefficient HVAC system. Dirty filters, leaky ducts, or an aging unit can cause your system to work harder, consuming more energy. Regular maintenance helps improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Change your air filter every 1-3 months, depending on usage, allergies, and pets. A clean filter improves airflow, helps maintain indoor air quality, and extends the life of your system.

During the summer, set your thermostat to 78°F when you’re home and higher when away. During the winter, keep it at 68°F for energy savings. A programmable or smart thermostat can help optimize comfort and efficiency.

With proper maintenance, most HVAC systems last 10-15 years. However, factors like usage, climate, and upkeep can impact their lifespan. Regular servicing helps extend their longevity.

Yes! We provide flexible financing plans to help make HVAC repairs or replacements more affordable. Contact us to learn more about our available options.

Ductless AC systems are energy-efficient, easy to install, and provide zoned cooling for better temperature control. They’re a great option for homes without existing ductwork.

Regularly changing air filters, installing air purifiers, using a dehumidifier, and ensuring proper ventilation can significantly improve indoor air quality. We also offer professional air quality testing and filtration solutions.

Unusual sounds like banging, rattling, or screeching can signal issues such as loose components, motor problems, or airflow restrictions. If you hear anything unusual, it’s best to schedule an inspection before it leads to a bigger problem.
